Maria Picassó i Piquer is a Catalan artist based in Barcelona. She graduated in Architecture and soon left her office job to become a full-time illustrator.
She combines her training in architecture and design with her love for observing and capturing human faces, distilling them down to their most recognisable essence. Her use of shapes and color gradients provide a bold and timeless approach to any subject.
Her main fields of illustration are editorial illustrations, cover art, posters and brand illustrations.
Highly acclaimed in her profession, she’s been a guest speaker in various conventions in both Europe and USA and has been a jury member of World Press Cartoon in 2018.
Maria's work has been published on ICON magazine, LA Times, Barron's, Delish, El Correo and Diari Ara, amongst many others.
