Painting: James Hetfield portrait

Most of my latest illustrations are done entirely with digital media. However, when it comes to realistic painting, I like to stay with traditional media. This James Hetfield (Metallica’s frontman) portrait I did some years ago was painted with gouache on Ikea cardboard.
